Throughput without outcome is busywork
High job volume can mask programmes that never deliver the business result sponsors believe they bought.
Job counts tell you something ran. Outcome markers tell you whether the automation programme finished the work the business cares about. Application analytics should emit both: stage throughput and terminal outcomes such as invoice posted, record synced, or exception closed.
Without outcome markers, programme packs celebrate volume while sponsors wait on unfinished work. With them, you can compare programmes on useful completion, not just queue drain.
Instrument outcome events with the same care you give start events. Pair them in reviews. Programme analytics improve when outcome is a first-class signal.
